Carlo Balemans (1963) lives in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Since 1984 he has been working as a professional conductor, composer and creative artist for all kinds of organisations and ensembles.
He has been a guest conductor for the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, as well as at Carroll College Wind Symphony (USA), NTR (dutch broadcast), Band of the Dutch Royal Marines and various ensembles of Codarts Rotterdam, University of the Arts.
“Meet, Inspire & Create” is the basis of Carlos way of working. He has a great interest in people and in their talents. Which he finds to be a challenging product on every level. As a creative artist he has worked with world top performers like Eric Vloeimans, Bojan Zulfikarpasic, André Heuvelman, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Conny Janssen Danst.
He also worked in Uganda with local brass band leaders to improve their musical and leadership skills. In 2006 he started to write a methodology for informal art education. Brassbandschool Rotterdam is the first school in the Netherlands working with this methodology. In 2012 this school has been acknowledged as an official school for the arts. In 2012 he started using the same methodology with great success on the isle of Bonaire for the Skol di Musika Boneiru.
His unlimited passion to find the way to other peoples passions, his spontaneity, intuition and adventurous nature added to 30 years of experience at every conceivable level make him a great inspiration for anyone who works with him.
